A Marble-Effect Transformation in Doncaster
This recent project by Bathroom Studio on Wheatley Hall Road is a study in using “visual weight” to create a high-impact, modern space. The design is anchored by the breathtaking Villeroy & Boch Marble Arch Tiles, which feature dramatic, sweeping veining that adds a sense of movement and grandeur to the walls. To ground the space, we paired these with Bourgogna Floor Tiles, creating a stable, earthy foundation that allows the wall patterns to take center stage. The standout feature of this installation is the deliberate use of matt black accents, which slice through the marble backdrop to create a sharp, architectural aesthetic.
The showering area is defined by the Flair Ora Shower Screen, featuring a sleek black frame that perfectly coordinates with the House of Piccadilly Brassware. This choice of hardware provides a tactile, premium feel and a bold silhouette against the white porcelain. For the vanity, we selected the Subway 3.0 unit in Oak Canvas. The light, textured wood grain of the Oak Canvas finish provides a crucial organic element, softening the high-contrast look and ensuring the room feels welcoming. Above the basin sits the HiB Solstice Mirror, its circular form and strap-style mounting breaking up the room’s linear patterns with a touch of contemporary flair.
Innovative Engineering and Timeless Style
Beyond the surface beauty, this Doncaster installation is packed with high-performance features. The Vogue Aquila radiator serves as both a functional heating element and a piece of wall art, finished in a dark tone to maintain the room’s cohesive colour palette. By utilising wall-hung furniture and a concealed cistern, we’ve maximised the floor area, making the bathroom feel larger and more open.
The Marble Arch tiles were meticulously planned to ensure the veining flows naturally around corners and into the window recesses, showcasing the precision craftsmanship our installation team is known for.
Every component in this room, from the deep drawers of the Oak Canvas unit to the precision flow of the House of Piccadilly taps, has been curated to offer a spa-like experience at home. This project perfectly illustrates how daring choices – like mixing bold marble patterns with industrial black hardware – can result in a space that is both timeless and cutting-edge. It’s a signature look that has become a favourite at our Wheatley Hall Road showroom, proving that with the right materials, even a compact footprint can deliver immense style.
