Luxury Marble-Effect Bathroom with Statement Copper Bath

This striking bathroom combines rich marble-effect surfaces, warm metallic finishes and traditionally influenced furniture to create a space with plenty of character. Villeroy & Boch Port St Laurent tiles run across the floor and walls. The dark finish and distinctive veining provide a strong backdrop for the rest of the scheme.
Brushed brass fittings add warmth, while the freestanding copper bath from BC Designs creates a striking focal point. The main bathroom has a carefully designed WC area that continues with the same materials and detailing, giving both spaces a consistent finish.

Statement Materials & Warm Metallic Finishes

The Villeroy & Boch Port St Laurent tiles play a central role in the design. Their deep marble-inspired colouring is broken up by natural-looking warm-toned veining, creating movement across the walls and floor without the need for additional patterns or decorative finishes.
Against this deeper background, brassware from House of Piccadilly introduces a softer metallic contrast with the brushed finish repeated across the basin, shower and other fittings, helping to connect the different areas of the bathroom.
The standout feature from BC Designs is the stunning freestanding copper bath, with its polished copper exterior bringing a warmer tone into the room and creating a strong contrast against both the Port St Laurent tiles and white bath interior.

A Practical Main Bathroom

The shower area uses a Merlyn glass enclosure, allowing the Port St Laurent tiles to remain visible through the enclosure and helping the space retain an open feel. Finished with brushed brass shower fittings and hardware to continue the finish used elsewhere in the room.

A substantial vanity unit from The Bathroom Company provides useful storage and introduces a more traditional furniture style. The curved end and four framed drawer fronts soften the hard surfaces elsewhere in the room. The substantial vanity size allows for twin Villeroy & Boch basins that make the vanity practical for everyday use.

Villeroy & Boch Subway sanitaryware WC completes the scheme, keeping the WC area clean and understated alongside the more prominent finishes.

Bespoke Details

A particularly distinctive part of the project is the made-to-order basin, produced in-house to suit the space. Finished in the same dark marble-effect material, it almost disappears into the surrounding wall treatment while retaining a strong architectural form.

A Dekton surface has also been introduced above the WC, providing a neat finishing detail and another practical surface within the room.

These bespoke elements help the bathroom feel designed specifically for the property rather than assembled from a standard collection of products.

The Finished Result

This project balances bold materials with carefully chosen furniture and brassware. The dark Port St Laurent surfaces give the bathroom depth, while brushed brass details and the copper bath introduce warmth and prevent the scheme from feeling overly severe.

The combination of Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware and tiles, Merlyn shower enclosure, House of Piccadilly brassware, The Bathroom Company furniture and the BC Designs copper bath creates a bathroom that feels luxurious without losing sight of everyday practicality.

The continuation of the same finishes into the WC area also gives the overall project a much stronger sense of continuity, with bespoke details adding an individual finish.
