Modern Elegance: A Villeroy & Boch Showcase in Doncaster
At Bathroom Studio, located on Wheatley Hall Road, Doncaster, we pride ourselves on turning functional spaces into personal sanctuaries. Our latest project is a masterclass in modern architectural design, balancing the rugged, organic beauty of natural stone textures with the sharp, clean lines of contemporary German engineering. The client’s brief was to create a space that felt both expansive and intimate, utilising high-end materials that would stand the test of time. By selecting a palette centered around the Villeroy & Boch Code 2 Tiles, we established a seamless, “wrapped” environment where the walls and floors flow into one another, creating a cohesive visual language that expands the perceived dimensions of the room.
The foundation of this design, lies in its clever use of space and light. Rather than traditional floor-mounted fixtures, we utilised the ViConnect frame system to install a Villeroy & Boch Architectura wall-hung W/C. This floating installation is a design “cheat code” for luxury bathrooms; by keeping the floor clear, the eye perceives more square footage, and the beautiful tonal variations of the Code 2 porcelain are allowed to shine uninterrupted. To add depth to the flat surfaces, we integrated custom-built recessed shelving units within the wall. These niches, finished with precision trim and integrated LED strip lighting, serve a dual purpose: they provide sleek storage for toiletries while acting as a ambient light sources that emphasise the textured stone grain of the tiling.
Precision Engineering Meets Organic Comfort
In the bathing zone, the focus shifts to pure relaxation and ergonomic excellence. We installed the Villeroy & Boch Oberon bath, a timeless piece crafted from Quaryl – a unique material that combines the best properties of natural quartz with high-quality acrylic resin. The result is a bath that is smooth to the touch, incredibly durable, and retains heat for a superior soaking experience. To maintain the room’s open-plan feel while ensuring practicality, we paired the bath with a Flair Shower screen. The minimalist glass and high-quality hinges provide a nearly invisible barrier, protecting the room from splash without he visual clutter of a heavy frame.
The water delivery systems were chosen for their tactile quality and reliable performance. For the shower, the Vado Altitude system offers a high-flow, invigorating experience with a sleek, chrome aesthetic that complements the room’s modern hardware. Over at the vanity, the Hansgrohe Logis basin mixer provides the German-engineered precision that homeowners expect from a premium build. This tap sits atop the Utopia Cube basin and unit, which serves at the room’s primary focal point of warmth. The rich, wood-grain finish of the vanity provides a necessary organic contrast to the cool grey tones of the stone-effect tiles, preventing the room from feeling too clinical and instead making it feel like a high-end spa.
The Bathroom Studio Difference
This project perfectly encapsulates what we do at our Wheatley Hall Road Showroom. It’s not just about picking out a bath or a basin; it’s about understanding how light, material, and layout interact to create a specific mood. Every element in this Doncaster home – from the hidden ViConnect Frame to the precisely mitered corners of the Code 2 tiles – was selected to contribute to a sense of quiet luxury. The final result is a bathroom that doesn’t just serve a purpose but elevates the daily routine of a homeowner. Whether you are looking for the architectural precision of Villeroy & Boch or the bespoke furniture styling of Utopia, our team is here to bring that vision to live with the same level of detail seen in this stunning installation.
